The Casstrom Woodsman Knife is a bushcraft knife for people who do a lot of woodworking. Indeed, the scandi cut (14%) is ideal for this purpose. The knife was designed by Roger Harrington, a bushcraft trainer who started giving training courses in this field back in 1996. Like all Casstrom knives, this one fits the hand wonderfully.
The blade is made from Uddeholm Sleipner steel: This steel has the same good qualities as the old reliable Böhler K720, but with 8% Chromium so it has more resistance to staining / rusting.
Uddeholm Sleipner tool steel with a high carbon content to make the knife durable for hard-handed use, such as batoning and chopping.
This variant is equipped with a scandi-grain. This makes the blade slightly thicker and the cut somewhat better for woodworking.
The handle is made of bog oak. This is oak that has been buried under the ground for a very long time, making it nice and hard and dark. Between the wood and the handle is a black liner placed.
The Casström Woodsman Knife comes with a solid leather sheath. This has a belt loop for a belt up to (approximately) 6.5 cm wide. On the side of the sheath you will find a firesteel. This has a handy elastic attached so that you can secure it.
